SJ Group Expands into the US Healthcare Consulting Market

Global infrastructure consultancy aims to support hospitals with modern facility planning, resilient design, and operational transformation

New York, March 16, 2026 – SJ Group, a global infrastructure and consulting firm, has announced its entry into the United States healthcare consulting market, marking a key step in the company’s international growth strategy. The move comes at a time when hospitals and healthcare systems across the US are facing growing challenges related to aging infrastructure, access to care, and financial sustainability.

With more than 60 years of healthcare design expertise, SJ Group has supported over 300 health systems worldwide in improving their healthcare facilities, operational models, and infrastructure planning. Through its new US healthcare advisory practice, the firm aims to help hospitals modernize their infrastructure while improving efficiency and patient care delivery.

According to the company, the expansion reflects a growing demand for strategic support as healthcare organizations navigate rising operational pressures and evolving care models. Hospitals are increasingly looking for solutions that not only address current facility challenges but also prepare their infrastructure for future healthcare needs.

Christy Lindsey, global head of healthcare advisory at SJ, said the firm’s focus is on helping healthcare providers adapt to rapid changes in the industry. She explained that the company aims to design infrastructure systems that support healthcare delivery today while remaining resilient, adaptable, and ready for future demands.

SJ Group works with a wide range of healthcare clients, including community-based health systems and large hospital networks in both public and private sectors. The consultancy believes its ability to deliver end-to-end project lifecycle solutions makes it unique in the US market. This approach allows healthcare organizations to manage projects from early planning stages through design, development, and operational implementation.

The company’s US healthcare practice will focus on several key service areas. These include strategic facilities planning, infrastructure planning, operational planning, and capital planning. A strong emphasis will also be placed on sustainable healthcare design and resilient infrastructure development, which are becoming increasingly important as hospitals work to improve long-term efficiency and environmental performance.

SJ Group was formed in 2015 through the merger of Surbana International Consultants and Jurong International Holdings. The company is wholly owned by Temasek, a Singapore-based investment firm. Today, SJ operates with a global workforce of around 16,000 employees, including more than 400 professionals working across its operations in the United States and Canada.

Beyond healthcare consulting, the firm provides services in design, engineering, and program management for projects across sectors such as buildings and cities, energy and infrastructure. SJ also delivers integrated solutions in security systems, mission-critical facilities, defense infrastructure, facilities and asset management, and digital services.

As healthcare systems continue to evolve, the company believes that modern infrastructure planning and strategic advisory services will play an essential role in helping hospitals adapt to growing patient demands, technology advancements, and operational complexity.
