The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) has officially signed off on a partnership with Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) to create what would be a permanent link between their global networks of health professionals.
According to certain reports, the stated partnership will be geared towards growing and enhancing the educational programming, as well as resources available to physicians and clinical leaders.
More on the same would reveal how this collaboration will pack together new educational offerings for health professionals, collaborative work on public policy, and co-hosted events. The idea behind doing that is to deliver robust resources and networking opportunities at the disposal of physicians, Chief Medical Information Officers (CMIOs), clinical leadership, and health technology professionals worldwide.
“We are excited to enter into this new phase of collaboration with HIMSS,” said Richard L. Rydell, CEO of AMDIS. “By combining our expertise in clinical informatics with HIMSS’s global influence in health technology, we can offer unprecedented educational opportunities and tools for physician leaders, ensuring they are equipped to globally advance patient care and outcomes through education, networking, and content development.”
Taking a deeper view of what all the given partnership is likely to realize moving forward, we begin from its promise to create exclusive educational initiatives, including a comprehensive, multi-modal learning experience for clinical leaders to facilitate digital health transformation at their organizations.
Next up, there is the prospect of shared leadership development. Here, both the organizations will build upon their work together to support the HIMSS-AMDIS Physician Executive Award, thus recognizing the critical role of physician leaders in regards to health information and technology. Not just that, they will also explore new, blended membership models that bring together the strengths of both communities.
Then, we have join events and programs coming into play. You see, AMDIS and HIMSS will co-develop, and at the same time, cross-promote major healthcare conferences, such as the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition and the AMDIS Physician-Computer Connection Symposium. All in all, the vision is to actively collaborate on opportunities that are capable of supporting the clinician executive.
Rounding up highlights would be the potential for international growth. We get to say so because the partnership in question will target North America to begin, then expand internationally, developing at every touchpoint an assortment of new educational and membership initiatives to further enhance the global reach of both organizations.
Operating out of Chicago, HIMSS’ rise up the ranks stems from supporting public policy, workforce development, governance, analytics, and cybersecurity operations to empower health and healthcare leaders, clinicians, and technology partners across the global health ecosystem. This the society does by providing critical insights, advisory services, educational resources, professional development tools, and networking opportunities to the global health information and technology communities. HIMSS’ excellence can also be contextualized once you consider it currently has more than 125,000 individuals, 430+ provider organizations, 500+ nonprofit partners, and 550+ health services organizations in its ecosystem.
Turning our attention to AMDIS, founded in 1997, it is best known for bringing cutting-edge healthcare information technology to help physicians across the board. The society’s case is aided by the fact that it has thought leaders, decision makers, and opinion influencers dedicated to advancing the field of Applied Medical Informatics as its core members.
“Through our partnership with AMDIS, we are creating a trusted network that enables physicians and health system executives to collaborate and share insights that will transform the future of the global health ecosystem, ultimately improving care delivery and patient outcomes,” said Hal Wolf, President & CEO of HIMSS. “Digital health transformation is rapidly accelerating, and this partnership will provide the tools and resources clinical leaders need to lead and support advanced infrastructures and stay at the forefront of health innovation.”
