Giving the Problem of Stress Among Women its Long-due Attention

FlorastorĀ®, the brand with the world’s No. 1 selling probiotic strain, backed by 70 years of trusted research, has officially published the results from a new report, which was structured to generate greater understanding around women’s stress.

Named as ā€œIt’s not just personal; it’s communal. A new survey commissioned by Florastor – Gut Check: What’s Stressing Women Out?ā€, the stated report reveals that 72 percent of the surveyed women admit they feel both societal and internal pressure to take on emotional labor, whereas on the other hand, 60 percent believe it’s more stressful to be a woman in 2025 than ever before.

More on the same would reveal how Florastor’s survey discovered that the average woman reports feeling stressed for at least five hours a day, or about 21 percent of her day. If we narrow down our focus, we would learn that Gen Z and millennials, in particular, clock an even higher amount of stress time at six hours a day.

Despite such a heavy emotional load, though, no more than 18 percent of women were deemed as “very open” with friends and family regarding their stress levels, while another 52 percent said they often fake being “fine” when they aren’t. 63 percent of women also believe their stress levels are equal to or even higher than those of the men in their lives.

Beyond that, 26 percent of women said they would delete social media, and 14 percent would even sleep on the floor, if it meant cutting their stress in half.

“At Florastor, we understand that women’s health needs are interconnected — and that stress can impact the body in ways that are often overlooked,” said Bindu Shah, Chief Marketing Officer at Florastor. “The insights from our recent survey show just how many women are carrying the weight of stress daily, often at the expense of their overall well-being.ā€

Taking an even deeper view of things, Florastor’s report informs us on how stress is also getting in the way of future plans, as 28 percent respondents said they’re too focused on just making it through the day.

Not just future, the problem in question has also caused 26 percent to spend less time with family and friends, with another 26 percent unable to pursue their hobbies, and 21 percent feeling less connected to their partner.

Turning our attention towards the impact of stress on women’s health, high stress levels have shown to impact multiple aspects of women’s health. These aspects include quality of sleep (44 percent), ability to focus (34 percent), and mental health (34 percent).

A contingent of 21 percent respondents also reported digestive upset, joined by another 15 percent who were found to be dealing with bloating and constipation.

From a generational standpoint, Gen Z saw stress affecting their work (37 percent) and relationships with men (19 percent), more than anything else.Ā As for Gen X, their most affected components were physical health (31 percent).

Millennials, on their part, would report a lack of confidence while talking on the phone (21 percent) as the most stress-affected aspect.

In response to this crisis, women are increasingly turning to simple but powerful habits like carving out “me time” (36 percent), taking a walk (35 percent), hopping in the shower (30 percent), aiming for eight hours of sleep (30 percent), and playing with their pets (27 percent).

The average woman also emerged as confident that these approaches reduce her stress levels by nearly two-thirds (63 percent).

Florastor took this opportunity to further introduce its Her Florastor Digest + De-stress Probiotic, a daily probiotic designed to help women feel their best. Leveraging clinically studied probiotics and fast-acting L-theanine, Florastor can help women stay resilient during stressful situations. It is also the only probiotic which delivers comprehensive benefits for digestive, vaginal, and emotional health to help keep women balanced.

“When you’re stressed, your gut often feels it first — from bloating and discomfort to irregular digestion,” said Steph Grasso, MS, RD, Florastor Brand Ambassador. “That’s why I’m so excited about Her Florastor. It’s a simple but powerful way for women to support their bodies through the ups and downs of everyday life.”
