Marit Health has officially announced the launch of its community-powered, anonymous and verified salary sharing platform for physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs).
According to certain reports, the stated platform arrives on the scene bearing an ability to offer free and real-time access of comprehensive compensation information, alongside schedule, shifts, and benefits details. This it will do to help clinicians make more informed career decisions.
The development in question also delivers a rather interesting follow-up to Marit recently raising a sum of $3.2M in a seed funding round. Led by Define Ventures, the round saw further participation from a number of leading physicians and technology entrepreneurs, including Rich Barton (co-founder of Zillow, Glassdoor, and Expedia), Tim Besse (co-founder of Glassdoor), Jay Desai (founder of PatientPing) and Aneesh Chopra (co-founder of CareJourney and former Chief Technology Officer of the US).
“This funding enables us to accelerate growth of this community and create modern tools and resources needed to support clinicians at every stage of their careers—all while keeping Marit free for its members,” said Vikas Sabnani, co-founder and CEO of Marit Health. “Empowering clinicians with the information they need isn’t just about individual success—it’s about strengthening the core of our healthcare system. I saw this firsthand at Glassdoor—when candidates are well-informed and equipped to make better career decisions, it leads to higher retention, stronger engagement, and a more sustainable workforce for forward-thinking employers.”
To understand the significance of such a development, we must take into account how clinician workforce across the board is currently under extreme strain from a growing demand for healthcare. In case that wasn’t enough, compensation has also remained stagnant, failing to keep pace with inflation.
Marit’s new platform, in response, will leverage an innovative “give-to-get” model to collect compensation data directly from clinicians themselves and offer an unprecedented level of transparency. The idea behind such a setup is to give clinicians access of real, anonymized salaries with all the details that matter
Talk about the whole value proposition on a slightly deeper level, we begin from the promise of comprehensive compensation structure and breakdown. This packs together elements like compensation model, base salary, RVUs & collection rates, bonuses, and incentives etc.
Next up, we have the availability of new hire benefits, such as signing and relocation bonuses, loan forgiveness, and more etc. Another detail worth a mention is rooted in the information available surrounding work structure and responsibilities. These responsibilities include practice setting, clinical vs. non-clinical breakdown, and census, etc.
Joining that would be shift and call schedules, all of them available with call-rates, overtime rate, pay differentials for nights, and weekends, etc. Then, we have a wide range of benefits and perks coming into play. These benefits include CME allowances, PTO, malpractice coverage, retirement plans, and other special benefits.
Rounding up highlights would be the platform’s focus on generating clinician satisfaction. This it will achieve on the back of total compensation, overall work structure, and benefits.
Marit’s excellence in what it does can be understood once you consider more than 12,000 members have joined the platform, contributing more than 7,000 verified salaries to build one of the largest and fastest growing community-powered datasets of its kind.
“Improving U.S. healthcare at scale means investing not just in novel care models or promising therapeutics, but also in the well-being of the highly-trained professionals delivering care,” said Lynne Chou O’Keefe, Founder & Managing Partner, Define Ventures. “The clinician shortage and exodus from medicine is a pressing challenge that demands a fresh, novel approach. Marit’s founding team brings not only the right blend of clinical and technical expertise, but also proven playbooks. We’ve been incredibly impressed by Marit’s remarkable growth in just a few months, reaching clinicians across all specialties and geographies—entirely driven through word of mouth.
